Quick update on our earlier Gamescom preview. Opening Night Live is now days away, Tuesday August 25 at 2pm ET with a pre-show half an hour before, and the confirmed list has grown since we last checked.
What's newly locked in
Alien: Isolation 2 is the one horror fans will care about. SEGA and Creative Assembly are bringing the first European hands-on of its prologue to the show floor, so expect it to feature during Geoff Keighley's roughly two-hour showcase.
The wider playable lineup across the week now includes Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, Metro 2039, Persona 4 Revival, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Dragon's Dogma II: Dark Arisen and The Blood of Dawnwalker. Gamescom's show floor has sold out for the first time, which tells you how much is riding on this one.
What's still a rumour
Resident Evil chatter keeps circling, with Resident Evil Veronica floated as a possible reveal, but Capcom hasn't confirmed anything. Treat it as a maybe until it's on screen. Same goes for the usual 'surprise world premiere' talk. Keighley's shows always oversell the surprises, so keep expectations honest and enjoy whatever actually lands.
