Heads up before you scroll: this is a leak, not an announcement, and the people who tend to know reckon the footage is old. Treat all of it as unconfirmed.
On August 18, two clips of GTA 6 plus what looks like the full map of Leonida turned up online. Rockstar started firing off DMCA takedowns within hours, which is about the closest thing to confirmation you'll get that the material is real. The leaker is reportedly unnamed and said to be annoyed about the game shipping digital-only.
Here's the catch, and it's a big one: insider NateTheHate and Insider Gaming both say the build is roughly a year old, possibly dating back to late 2023. So whatever you're squinting at may not resemble the November game.
What people spotted
Between the two clips, the analysis crowd flagged a handful of systems:
- A six-star wanted level, up from five, tied to a police identification system that seems to flag you on sight.
- A stamina meter for melee that drains faster with heavy weapons, like a wrench.
- A karma or reputation system, with on-screen icons popping up when Jason attacks people. Very Red Dead Redemption 2.
- Fuel and engine gauges on vehicles, hinting at cars that can actually run dry.
- Smaller bits: basketball and pool minigames, and some form of vehicle storage.
So what's it worth
None of it is official, and a year-old build is a moving target. Features get cut, added, and rebuilt in that time. The useful read isn't "GTA 6 confirmed to have X" but "these systems existed in some form back in 2023." If they survived, we'll see the real versions on August 27, when Rockstar's Extended Look premieres on Netflix before landing on YouTube. That's the one worth waiting for.
