Here's one that quietly crept up on me. Star Wars Zero Company is out August 27, a proper single-player, turn-based tactics game set in the back half of the Clone Wars, landing on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
The reason to care isn't the licence, it's the team. Zero Company comes from Bit Reactor, a studio built from ex-Firaxis people, as in the XCOM lot. So this is squad-scale, turn-based positioning with ability synergies and mission planning, not a sandbox war sim. If you've ever spent a night sweating a 95% shot in XCOM, you already know the shape of this.
What you're actually getting
You command Zero Company, a mixed-bag squad of a clone trooper, a Mandalorian, a Jedi padawan and a few others, hunting a Separatist-aligned cult leader. Reports peg the campaign at 30 to 40 hours, mostly linear and story-led rather than an open strategic layer. Cinematic first, systems second, by the sound of it. Whether the tactics have enough bite underneath the presentation is the question I'd want answered before pre-ordering.
The price, plainly
Standard is $49.99 on PC, $59.99 on console. Deluxe pushes that to $59.99 and $69.99 and adds cosmetic packs and Clone Wars-flavoured weapon themes. Pre-orders get a Crystalline Astromech cosmetic. None of that changes the game, so grab the Standard and wait for impressions if you're on the fence. It's published by EA, which, given the week EA's having, is a sentence with some weight to it.
