Let's get the important part out of the way first: none of this is confirmed. There's no word from Blizzard, nothing from Nintendo, just a leak from a source with a decent track record. So read on, but keep your wallet closed for now.

The claim comes from billbil-kun, the leaker who posts through Dealabs and has a long history of calling storefront listings and console lineups before they're announced. That pedigree is why this one is worth a look rather than a shrug.

What the leak actually says

According to billbil-kun, Diablo 4 is coming to Switch 2 on September 15, though they add they can't yet be certain whether it's the 15th or the 18th. It'd arrive as the 'Age of Hatred Collection', bundling the base game with both expansions, Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred, for 69.99 dollars / 62.99 pounds / 69.99 euros.

The timing is the interesting bit. The leak suggests Blizzard could show the port during Gamescom Opening Night Live tomorrow, with pre-orders opening on September 12, the first day of BlizzCon 2026. So if this is real, you might not be waiting long to hear it from Blizzard directly.

The catch physical buyers won't love

Here's the part that'll annoy anyone who likes a shelf: the physical edition reportedly won't have the game on the cartridge. It's a code in a box. That's becoming depressingly normal for big Switch 2 ports, but it still stings on a game this size, and it's worth knowing before you pre-order a boxed copy expecting to own it properly.

How much to trust it

billbil-kun is about as reliable as leakers get, which is why this is spreading. But 'reliable leaker' still isn't 'Blizzard said so', and the September date is explicitly hedged. If it's genuine, Gamescom tomorrow is the obvious place for it to surface. If it doesn't turn up there, that tells you something too. Diablo 4 running on a handheld you can throw in a bag is a genuinely appealing idea. We just don't have it in writing yet.
