File this under rumour and keep it there. Dataminers digging through Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls have pulled out strings that, if accurate, point to Rocket Raccoon as a future DLC character and a battle pass system that has not gone live. None of this is confirmed by Sony or the developers, and datamined text is a snapshot of what is in the files, not a promise of what ships.
The Rocket find, reported by God is a Geek and others, is the fun one: alongside the character reference sits an internal developer note reportedly warning that he needs careful handling because 'he's future DLC.' The same dig turned up references to new costumes for Hulk, Spider-Man, Green Goblin, and Doctor Doom.
The character wishlist, with a health warning
A separate datamine, credited to a group called X0XLeak and covered by Kotaku and EventHubs, reportedly lists five more names sitting in the files as prototype or 'Future' entries: Doctor Strange, Wasp, Gambit, The Thing, and Daredevil. Before you get attached to any of them, this is exactly the sort of list that burns people. Names in game files can be cut content, placeholder test data, or ideas that never make it past a spreadsheet. A string is not a roadmap.
What's actually official
For contrast, here is the confirmed bit. Sony has already named Phoenix Cyclops as the first Year 1 DLC character, arriving between October and December 2026, with three more scheduled across 2027. So the datamine is not filling a vacuum; it is sitting next to a plan the publisher has already laid out.
The detail I would actually watch is not the character list at all. It is that battle pass. A full-price fighting game quietly wiring in battle pass plumbing is the kind of thing worth clocking early, because that shapes how the next two years of Tokon feel to play far more than whether Gambit shows up. For now, though, none of it is official. Enjoy the speculation, just do not spend money on it.
