If you've been holding Super Credits for a rainy day, here's your rainy day. Helldivers 2's Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond goes live on August 12. Arrowhead has it priced at 1,700 Super Credits, a step up from the usual Warbond, which is the studio being upfront that this is the premium crossover tier rather than a standard drop.
What's in the box
Two armour sets, the TG-8 Sharpshooter and the TG-122 Demo-Trooper, plus four new weapons. One of those is a grenade alternative, and yes, the Bolt Pistol is in there, which is the single item most of the 40K crowd was going to buy this for regardless of the rest. It's a clean bit of fan service, and it fits Helldivers' whole grimdark-but-winking tone better than most crossovers manage.
The bigger change underneath
The Warbond is the flashy part, but the structural news is arguably more interesting. Arrowhead is evolving Major Orders into proper galactic war campaigns later this month, with changes to how missions get distributed and some work on Super Destroyers in the pipeline too. That's a real shift for a game whose whole pull is the shared, community-wide war, and it's the kind of thing that can breathe a second wind into the meta-game or annoy people who liked the old rhythm. We'll know which once it's live.
For now: August 12 for the Warbond, PC and PS5, and start banking those Super Credits if you haven't.
