[UPDATE] Rockstar Detailed a Pile of GTA 6 Stuff Before Tonight's Extended Look

Big one for the GTA crowd today. Hours before tonight's Netflix "Extended Look" - the first proper gameplay showing - Rockstar got ahead of its own stream, and its own leakers, by dropping a long batch of new detail on the Newswire.

So here's what we actually know now, straight from Rockstar rather than a blurry leak.

Jason, Lucia, and a Vice City that reacts

You play Jason and Lucia - he's ex-military turned drug runner, she's just out of prison - and you can run missions as a couple or split off and cause your own trouble. Rockstar's Rob Nelson framed it as the obvious hook: "Their story becomes a journey you share with them."

The part that got my attention is the reactive world. Walk down the street holding a rifle and people notice; NPCs in Little Cuba look and dress nothing like the folks out by Mount Kalaga National Park. It's the sort of thing every open world promises and few deliver, so file it under "show me" until tonight.

Your body keeps score

Food changes Jason and Lucia's weight. Exercise builds visible muscle. Go on a three-day bender or spend too long dodging the cops without sleep and it turns up in their faces. Whether that's a real system or a light cosmetic touch, we'll find out when someone actually plays it.

A whole fashion economy

Rockstar has had Miami stylist Jillian Carr on the game since 2023, building what it calls a fashion ecosystem - social media, celebrity culture, trend cycles, the lot. Her line was that "Vice City is built around vanity." On paper it fits the setting perfectly. On screen, we'll see.

The scale, and the catch

Rockstar says the studio has roughly doubled in size since Red Dead Redemption 2, that 50-plus real street artists painted murals for the city, and that actual race drivers worked on the vehicle handling. Impressive numbers. They're also exactly the numbers you put out when you want the conversation to be about your game and not the CyberLeek footage that leaked all over the internet last week.

None of this is the game running, mind. That's tonight - the Extended Look hits Netflix at 8pm BST (3pm ET), with the YouTube version following in the early hours. GTA 6 is still due November 19. Read today's drop for what it is: a very good trailer for a trailer. Now the footage has to back it up.
