FromSoftware has finally given you a date to get hands on The Duskbloods. The Switch 2 exclusive runs a network test from August 21 to 24, with playable sessions each of the four days. It is the first proper public look at a game the studio revealed back in April 2025 and then went quiet on.
What the test actually is
The Duskbloods is a PvPvE multiplayer game for up to eight players, set in a Victorian gothic world that looks a lot like Bloodborne with the lights turned down even lower. The test is a limited window: four-hour sessions across the four days, with two of them on August 22. So it is a stress test for the servers, not a demo you can sink a weekend into.
The soulslike-shaped elephant
Here is the honest bit. A lot of people saw "new FromSoftware, Bloodborne vibes" and assumed another solo, story-driven soulslike. The Duskbloods is not that. It is competitive and cooperative, built around eight players fighting each other and the world at the same time. If you wanted Bloodborne 2, this probably won't scratch it. If you have been wanting FromSoft to try something loud and multiplayer, this is exactly that.
The network test is where the netcode meets its first real crowd, and for a game that lives or dies on eight-player lobbies, that matters more than any trailer. A full release is still down as vaguely "later in 2026". Play the test, then judge it.
