Team Cherry has rolled out version 1.0.29926 for Hollow Knight: Silksong, and it's flagged this one as the last significant patch before the free Sea of Sorrow expansion arrives later this year. If you've been holding off on a fresh run, this is a sensible build to start on.
What's in it
It's a broad patch rather than a headline feature. It touches boss behaviour, closes off some out-of-bounds exploits, and adds new language support, including Traditional Chinese that Team Cherry says it built in close work with translators to keep the lore intact. Nothing flashy, but the kind of tidy-up you want before a big expansion lands on top of it.
The sales bit
Team Cherry also confirmed Silksong has passed seven million copies sold, on top of the millions more playing through Xbox Game Pass. For a game that spent years as a running joke about when it would actually come out, that's a quietly enormous number, and it explains why the studio is comfortable putting out a sizeable expansion for free.
What's next
Sea of Sorrow is the free expansion on the way, promising new areas, bosses and tools, still pinned to a 2026 release. No date yet. If you're picking Silksong back up for it, our earlier tips for Pharloom still hold up.
