Rockstar has a date for its next big GTA 6 reveal, and a slightly odd home for it. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres this Thursday, August 27, at 3pm ET, exclusively on Netflix. It then goes wide on Rockstar's own YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site six hours later, at 9pm ET.
Worth noting Rockstar isn't calling this Trailer 3. "An Extended Look" is doing some quiet promising there, hinting at something longer and more substantial than another ninety-second cinematic. We'll see whether it delivers on that or whether it's a trailer wearing a bigger coat.
The Netflix thing
Netflix pitched the deal as a first-of-its-kind partnership, which is the sort of line you write when you've paid for an exclusive window. For six hours, the biggest reveal in games sits behind a streaming subscription. If you don't have Netflix, you're waiting until 9pm ET like it's an embargo. It's a business move, not a fan-service one, and it's fair to read it as exactly that.
The leaks already spoiled the surprise
Here's the part Rockstar can't spin. The Netflix-first plan arrives after weeks of the CyberLeek breach dumping actual gameplay and, reportedly, the full Leonida map online. So the official Extended Look is walking into a room where a chunk of the audience has already seen more than the trailer will show, from a worse source. That's a strange position for the most anticipated reveal of the year to be in.
The release date hasn't moved: November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with PC still stuck out in 2027 or later. Thursday is the one to actually watch, leaks or no leaks.
