Let's be straight before anyone screenshots this: Rockstar has not announced a third GTA 6 trailer. No teaser, no countdown, no date. Everything below is speculation, and most of it is fans reading tea leaves. Treat it as a rumour, because that's all it is.
That said, the calendar has tightened, and there are two real things worth pointing at.
The bits that are actually real
First, Take-Two Interactive has a scheduled earnings call on Friday, August 7, at 8am ET. That's earlier in the day than these calls usually land, which is the sort of small oddity people love to build a theory on. Earnings calls are also where publishers like to drop pre-order numbers and dangle new marketing, so it's not a mad thing to watch.
Second, Rockstar just kicked off a two-week GTA Online update. Some fans have decided that timing lines up neatly for a trailer on Thursday, August 6, right before the earnings call. That's a vibe, not a leak, but the update itself is real.
The bits that are just noise
Back on July 28, someone clocked a batch of backend changes to the official GTA 6 website in a single day, which is unusual for a page that mostly sits idle between announcements. Insider NateTheHate reckons we'll see "a fair bit" of GTA 6 across August. Could mean a trailer. Could mean screenshots. Could mean nothing this week at all.
For the record: trailer one landed in December 2023, trailer two in May 2025. GTA 6 is still down for November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. If a trailer does drop this week, you won't need us to tell you, it'll be everywhere within about ninety seconds. Until then, keep the hype dialled to "maybe".
