Rob Nelson, Rockstar North's head of development and co-studio head, got asked the question every GTA fan has been chewing on. Famitsu put it to him straight: is November 19 actually happening? He didn't hedge. The game "will be released on time," he said, and reportedly laughed off the idea of another slip.
That's the whole story, and it lands because GTA 6 has already moved once. It sits against the extended look from August 27 too, the near-27-minute chunk of mostly gameplay that Rockstar dropped on Netflix before anywhere else. Nelson wants that footage to settle the nerves about quality. He said the team is happy with where the game is and still polishing it every day until launch.
How much to read into it
Developers say "on time" right up until the morning they don't. So keep the salt handy. But there's a real difference between a vague "we're confident" and a co-studio head putting his name to a specific date this close to the wire. Nelson could have deflected. He didn't. Take it as a good sign rather than a signed guarantee, and check back if the November calendar stays quiet.
