Ubisoft is marking 25 years of Ghost Recon with a live stream today, 9am PDT / 5pm BST. That part is official: Ubisoft confirmed the date and promised new content and "surprises." What those are, they're keeping quiet.
The leaks are less quiet. Reporting ahead of the show points to a Ghost Recon Wildlands Definitive Edition, a current-gen bump for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with 4K and 60fps, plus the older bonus missions bundled in. The bigger one, if it's real, is a first look at the next mainline game, reportedly codenamed Project OVR. Treat both as leaks until Ubisoft says them out loud on stream.
Why it matters
The last proper Ghost Recon was Breakpoint, back in 2019, and it landed rough before Ubisoft spent a good while patching it into something people actually liked. Seven years is a long silence for a series that used to be a reliable tentpole. If Project OVR is what today's stream is building to, this is the comeback the tactical-shooter crowd has been asking for.
Keep expectations sensible
Before anyone gets carried away: a remaster and a codename reveal is a fine anniversary show, but it isn't a release date. Ubisoft has teased plenty over the years and delivered on its own timeline. Watch the stream, enjoy the trailer, and hold the hype until there's a date attached. We'll cover what actually gets announced once it airs.
