EA Motive's Iron Man game has been a near-total blackout since it was announced back in October 2022. That ended on August 28, not because EA planned it, but because roughly two and a half minutes of very unfinished footage leaked onto ResetEra, carrying an "AUG26 TEST" watermark, and spread to Reddit before anyone could stop it.
What the footage showed
It is early, rough, greyboxed-in-places stuff, so treat the specifics loosely. Tony Stark is seen flying under bridges and through city streets, thumping armoured enemies between shots of him tinkering on new suit tech, and there is a glimpse of what looks like a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier in the background. In other words: it is an Iron Man game doing Iron Man things. Nothing here tells you how it plays over an hour, or how far off it is.
EA did not reach for the lawyers
The interesting part is the response. EA confirmed to Kotaku that the clip was genuine, then posted the first-ever message on the game's official X account, which was created in 2023 and had sat silent ever since:
"Well, that didn't go as planned. But now you know, and we've got a lot more to show you. See you when we're ready."
That is a cheerier reaction to a leak than most publishers manage. It also quietly tells you the project is real, still in progress, and not ready for a proper reveal.
So: the footage is confirmed, but that is all that is confirmed. There is no release date, no window, and no platform list from EA yet. The build looks a fair way from done, which fits a "test" watermark. Good sign that it exists and someone at EA is happy to wave at it. Just do not read a launch date into two minutes of leaked flying.
