Aim gets all the attention in Counter-Strike 2, and it is the thing people grind for hours. But watch anyone stuck in the same rank for a year and it is rarely their aim holding them back. It is the boring stuff around the aim. Here is where the easy improvement actually lives.
Put your crosshair where a head will be
Not on the floor, not on the sky. Keep it at head height and pre-aimed at the angle you are about to clear, so when someone steps out you are already on them and just have to click. This one habit wins more duels than any amount of raw flick practice.
Stop moving before you shoot
CS punishes running-and-gunning hard. Your shots are only accurate when you are standing still, so learn to counter-strafe: tap the opposite direction key to kill your momentum, then fire. Stop, shoot, then move again. It feels slow for a week and then it feels obvious.
Respect the economy
Buying on instinct loses rounds you did not need to lose. Learn the basic buy and save logic with your team, force-buy together or save together, and do not drop 4,000 on a pistol round sulk. A coordinated eco beats five players each doing their own thing.
Use your utility and use your voice
A smoke thrown at the right time does more than a lucky spray. Learn a couple of default smokes and flashes for the maps you play most. And keep comms short and useful: clear callouts of where and how many, not a running commentary or a rage session. Your teammates cannot see what you saw unless you tell them, calmly.
None of this is flashy. All of it works. Sort your habits and your aim starts to matter a lot more, because you are finally in the fights on your terms.
