007 First Light just crossed 4 million copies, which means a lot of you are starting it this week. It's a stealth sandbox at heart, and it rewards patience far more than trigger fingers. A few things worth knowing before you blow your cover in the first ten minutes.
Stealth is the whole game, so play it slow
Bond is not a tank. Wading into a room and trading shots is how you die and reload. Sit back, watch the patrol patterns, and let guards walk past before you move. Stick to shadows and cover, avoid restricted zones unless you have a reason to be there, and here's the one people skip: pick your exit before you enter. Knowing where you're bailing to turns a blown alarm from a disaster into an inconvenience.
Only two gadget slots really matter
You carry three gadgets, but the Q-Watch is always equipped, so you're really choosing two. Don't agonise over it: for a stealth run, the Dart Phone, Laser Strap and Smoke Pod cover almost everything, and the poison dart is the standout early pick because it works in both silent and loud situations.
Hack the cameras first, every time
Cameras are the thing that quietly ends your stealth run before you've noticed. Make disabling them your opening move in any new area with the Q-Watch, then worry about the guards. Think of gadgets as how you bend a room to your plan, distracting patrols and opening routes that aren't obvious, not as the panic button you reach for once it's already gone wrong.
Do that and First Light clicks fast. Rush it and you'll spend the campaign wondering why the "stealth game" keeps turning into a shootout. That part's on you, not the game.
