Nintendo's doing the thing where two Directs land on back-to-back days, and if you've got any feelings about Zelda you'll want to keep next Monday afternoon free.
The first is a Zelda show for the series' 40th anniversary, set for Monday, September 8 at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern, which is 3pm here in the UK, running about half an hour. The second is a more general look at Switch 2 games and follows on Tuesday, September 9 at the same time, running the longer of the two at roughly 45 minutes. Both stream on Nintendo's YouTube and Twitch, with a Treehouse session promised after the general one.
What to actually expect
The Zelda Direct is the one people are circling. An Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 has been the loudest rumour for months, and a 40th-anniversary show is exactly where you'd drop it. There's also been talk of a look at the live-action film. Manage your expectations on one thing, though: Kotaku reckons you shouldn't bank on the next mainline Zelda turning up, given Tears of the Kingdom is only three years old.
The general Direct is aimed at Switch 2 games landing this winter, so that's the one to watch if you just want to know what you're buying between now and Christmas. No lineup is confirmed yet, which is normal for Nintendo. They tell you almost nothing until the stream starts.
Two shows in two days is a lot of Nintendo for one week. We'll cover what actually gets announced rather than what the rumour mill wants to be true.
