If you missed it back in 2018, the hook is simple and it works. By day you run a little shop in town, pricing loot and haggling with customers. By night you head into the dungeons to get more loot to sell. It's the "one more run" loop with a spreadsheet gremlin on your shoulder, and it's very easy to lose an evening to.
The reason it's free isn't charity. Developer Digital Sun is using it to push Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, which lands September 2. Fair enough, that's how these things work, and the first game stands up fine on its own.
Claim it on the Steam store page before the deadline and you keep it whether or not you ever touch the sequel.
