It's happened again. Rockstar has delayed Grand Theft Auto 6, this time from its May 2026 slot to November 19, 2026, and paired the news with an apology. The announcement landed alongside Take-Two's latest earnings on November 6, which is the corporate way of burying a disappointment under a spreadsheet.
What Rockstar said
In a short blog post, the studio said the extra months would let it "finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect." Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick echoed it to shareholders, framing it as a "limited amount of additional time" for that same polish. No specific reason beyond that, which is standard Rockstar: they tell you when, not why.
Six more months
This is the second slip, and it adds roughly six months to a wait that was already stretched a full year past the original 2025 window. It stays PS5 and Xbox Series X/S; still no PC date, because of course there isn't.
Here's the honest read: a delayed game is eventually good, a rushed one is bad forever, and nobody sane wants a broken GTA 6. Fine. But this is the biggest launch the medium has, delayed twice, and "trust us, it's for polish" only carries so far. We'll believe November 19 when we're playing it, and not a day before.
