If you've been waiting to mine and blast on something other than a PC, your week's sorted. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor arrives on PS5, Switch and Switch 2 on October 7, after a decent run on Steam and Xbox.

In case you skipped it the first time: it's the Vampire Survivors formula wearing a Deep Rock hard hat. You pick a dwarf, you drop into a cave, and you hold off escalating swarms while your weapons fire on their own and your build snowballs over a single run. Dig, upgrade, survive, extract. It's the kind of thing that eats an evening before you've noticed.

And there's more coming

Alongside the console launch, developer Funday Games has announced a Knockout expansion that adds a new Brawler class, a Sandblasted Corridors biome, and a tougher mission with its own boss. No date on that one yet. A free update is also in the pipeline, so the console version isn't launching and then getting left alone.

At its usual price it's an easy recommend, and the handheld fit on Switch 2 sounds about right for a game built around short, moreish runs. Just don't blame us for the "one more run" at 1am.
